1st Week, July 2015
7th - 1st July

    Bible verse: John 21:3
Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

    Lesson
As close as John the beloved was to Jesus, when Peter decided to return to his fishing business he followed him, forgetting the promises of Christ. Yes he was tired of waiting and was just looking for someone to break the ice.

Note that the one you follow will influence your progress either positively or negatively. So stay focused.
Never let any man hold you back from your dreams, your purpose, your calling and your services to God.
Don't let failures have a way to destroy the dreams God has set in your heart.
Your current situation shouldn't be a motivation of going back to the old ways.

    Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me to be totally committed for divine service in Jesus name.
Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth in Jesus name - Psalms 119:88

    Bible verse: James 1:2-3
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

    Lesson
Why should you count temptations as joy?
Joy is independet of temptations; it is a product of your relationship with God!
God wants you to know a beauty and joy in the midst of your pains, sadness, depression, or discouragement.
He is checking, purifying your motives and preparing you for a better alternative.
Your hurts and difficult circumstances are only passing experiences.
They are means of confirming your faith, allowing you to grow your trust in God, to build and strengthen your spiritual muscle and helping you to mature with a pure and undefiled faith.
Therefore, in every situation give Him thanks.

    Prayer
Dear Lord, let your angels of peace go ahead of me, reveal my truly value and guide me to overcome every temptation in Jesus name
Help me to identify and deal with every weakness in me that can hinder my faith and progress in Jesus name

    Bible verse: Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

    Lesson
God loves you, pays greater attention to you, because He is a good God who takes pleasure in blessing.
Don't be discouraged by what people see in you and think about you!

    Remember:
The ten brothers looked at Joseph and saw a useless dreamer!
The travelers looked at Joseph and saw a slave!
Potiphar looked at Joseph and saw a fine servant!
Potiphar's wife looked at Joseph and saw a potential concupiscence lover!
The prison officers saw in Joseph only mere a prisoner!
But God looked at Joseph and saw the Prime Minister of Egypt.

Brethren be encouraged by what God sees in you and remain focused.

    Prayer
Through God I shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down my enemies - Psalms 108:13
Oh Lord, guide my path through life and make my enemies be at peace with me.
Give me the strength and clarity of mind to find my purpose and walk the path you've laid out for me in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Proverbs 8:32-33
Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

    Lesson
God is stretching out his hands to receive us. He wants to bless us, help us, do us good, give us His directions.
Do we have to refuse to follow His wisdom, thereby living our lives in disobedience, pride and arrogance and rebelling against His glorious will?
Let us be wise and considerate as not to decline hearing, receiving and obeying His instructions, embracing His doctrines and submitting to His ordinances.
Let us repent and ask God for direction and opened heart.

    Prayer
Dear Father, I ask you to reveal to me your clear direction in Jesus name.
Strengthen me to take the path you have set before me and not the path of least resistance.
Send out your light and your truth and allow them to lead and guide me in all that I do and all that I say in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Ecclesiastes 11:5
As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.

    Lesson
As the wind sovereignly operates and no humankind can create or control it, so is God's way. He determines what will happen, how and when it will happen. His ways cannot be predicted or understood. We only perceive its presence by its effects.
All we have to do is trust God, pray and pursue the path of righteousness, with faith and expectation be determined and be willing to take risks.

    Prayer
Dear Lord, Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight in Jesus name - Psalm 119:77,25:5
Fill my heart, this month, with Your holy gifts, unmerited blessings, joy, love, peace and goodness in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: 1 Samuel 17:32
And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.

    Lesson
David, unlike Saul and his professional soldiers, did not submit to the spiritual heart failure.
With boldness, determination, faith, trust in God and expectation he took the risk to face Goliath.
Yes! success is a child of risk.

Without the willingness and determination to take risks
    - David would not have stood before Goliath and kill him
    - Peter would not have stepped out of the boat to meet Jesus
    - Elijah would not have faced the prophets of Baal
    - the three lepers would have die of hunger and would not have safe the city
    - Esther would not have appealed to the King for the lives of her people
    - Zacchaeus and family would not have received their salvation
    - the blind Bartimaeus & the woman with the issue of blood would not have received their healing.

With faith, be willing and ready to take risks. Faith always means risk.
Don't wait for perfect conditions because that perfect conditions may never come.

    Prayer
Dear Lord, I am willing to take risks in my life, since I know it opens me to the unlimited potentials available to me.
Please remove my fears, doubts and the ways that will block good things from entering my life.
Enter and reweave my thoughts, guide my steps, my words, and my actions and grant me your courage and your strength in Jesus name

    Bible verse: Numbers 29:1
    And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation;
ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.

    Lesson
God declared 1st July a special day, a Holy Day to glorify, to shouting and praising His name.
It will be a month of great achievement, restoration, direction and God's visitation.
Think big this month, attempt greater things, view things from God's perspective and not from the worldly viewpoint.
Give notice of your preparedness for elevation with your shout offering.

Be filled with the Spirit of God and trust in it to get the job done.
Don't allow spiritual heart failure to overpower you but a heart full of faith.
Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! - Psalm 66:1
You are to blow the trumpet, and God will hear you, give you directions and cause people to grant you unmerited blessings.

    Prayer
Your plans will not fail, your destiny will not be aborted, the desires of your heart will be granted, every dryness in your land shall be uprooted in Jesus name.
This month, you will experience unmerited blessings, God's holy gifts and you shall be a testimony in Jesus name.
Go in faith with the tender mercies of God upon your life and become a blessing to the nations.
