Bible verse: 1 Samuel 18:4 contd.
4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.

Message
Jonathan was next in line to be king.
His royal robe, his tunic, his sword, his bow and his belt were symbolic of Jonathan's position as heir to the throne.
Giving David these items was symbolic of Jonathan passing on to David his right to the throne.
Instead of Jonathan giving in to jealousy, he puts David before himself.

How committed and generous are you to that person you term as your friend?
Which sacrifice can you undertake on his/her behalf?
Beloveth, we are to be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above ourselves.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
You are to seek the honour of other people before yourself.
Love makes you seek unity with others and makes you put others before yourself.

Prayer
Dear Lord, help me to cast aside feelings of jealousy or hatred and/or anything that will prevents me from taking pleasure in other people's success in Jesus name.
Do not allow me to harbour bitter envy and selfish ambition in my heart, not to boast about it or deny the truth in Jesus name.

Message
How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in love and unity.
Love, jealousy and fear all have to do with how you will relate to others.
They also have to do with how you will relate to God, and how God will use you in this life.

Beloveth, jealousy and fear drive people apart, but love brings people together - brings you closer to people.
Love makes you seek unity with others and makes you put others before yourself.
Jealousy prevents you from taking pleasure in other people's successes and robs you of the joy of your own successes and will make you strike out at others.

Prayer
Dear Lord, make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose like Jonathan and David.

Saturday, 12th February 2022
Bible verse: Nehemiah 9:19-20
19 Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go.
20 Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.

Message
God works His love and His power in perfect combination.
And He does not withhold His provision, though we deserve much different treatment.
Yes! the reliability of God's word is guaranteed by the integrity of His character.
His compassion is not just lingering in small doses about but abounding in its nature and work.
No wonder, He provided manna and gave water in the wilderness.
He will guide and help you to accomplish your destiny if only you can trust Him and walk in righteousness.

Instead of keeping away from God under a sense of unworthiness, come boldly to the throne of grace, that you may obtain mercy, and find grace to help you in time of need.
Pray that the pillar of the cloud departed not from you by day, neither the pillar of fire by night.
Beloveth, you need to remember that God had greater plans in mind and He will guide you through whichever wilderness you are going through.

Prayer
Dear Lord, prevent me from being dazzled by any passing fancy of this world, which can only cause me to stumble.
Thank You Lord, that no matter where I am or in what circumstances I find myself, You are the Rock upon which I stand and the heavenly lover of my soul.

Bible verse: Psalms 62:1-2
Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

Message
God alone is our salvation and strength.
He alone is our rock of defence.
Like David, we must secure our undivided confidence in the Lord our God, for He alone is the foundation upon which our hope is established, our source of supply, our fountain of grace and from Him alone flow rivers of living water.

Beloveth, you might be put into some fright, but you shall not be afraid with any amazement, nor so as to be put out of the possession of your own soul and confidence in the Lord.
My expectation is from the Lord. I may be shocked, but I shall not be sunk.

Prayer
Great God, let Your countenance of favour smile on me and favour my righteous aspiration to move forward in Jesus name.
Because You are my defence, let my enemies hear the thunder of Your voice and let them be confused and perish in Jesus name.

Bible verse: Esther 5:6
And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

Message
Esther was encouraged to ask to the extent of the half of the kingdom of Persia.
Beloveth, you are encouraged to ask to the whole of the kingdom of heaven, with a life-rent on earth of all that is needful for us.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

You must be careful that you do not allow your enemy to distract you and thereby take your minds off your ultimate objective.
The devil likes to try your patience and discourage you to the extent that you give up.
Keep your heart and mind in the right place - focused on God's will, in tune with God's purpose, in touch with God's plan.

Prayer
Dear Lord, may I not be short-sighted like Haman thinking only of prestige, prominence, power and self-sufficiency.
Fill me, Lord, with more of Your love, peace, kindness, patience, humility and wisdom in Jesus name.

1 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.

Message
There are times when you don't know what to do, what to pray for and the way forward.
One thing you should be thankful for is that God of heaven has granted you another day.
You must praise God with fixedness of heart, with fervency of affection, with freeness of expression.
Beloveth, your tongue is your glory, and never more so than when it is employed in praising God.
Remember that His mercy is great above the heavens.

Prayer
Be thou exalted, O God above the heavens, higher than the angels themselves can exalt thee with their praises, and let thy glory be spread over all the earth.
I really need the strength and peace that only You can give i Jesus name.

Bible verse: Proverbs 2:20-21
20 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

Message
Beloveth, there is no neutral lifestyle but there are only two kinds of men - good men and bad men.
These two groups live very differently: their lifestyles and principles are opposed to each other.
You are living either a good or bad life, and you will either be rewarded or punished for it.

Good and righteous men live godly lives of virtue and integrity.
Bad and wicked men live foolish lives of vanity and deceit.
Those who walk in the way of the good will be included in blessings promised to God's people while the wicked will be cut off from the land.
Don't follow the examples of the majority. Always do what is right, and what is according to God's words.
Beloveth, do not imitate what is bad, but imitate what is good.

Yes! the wicked will be alone and confused, lacking community and the security of intimacy with God.
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong and let all that you do be done in love.

Prayer
Dear Lord, fill me with the power of your Holy Spirit to give me strength and determination and commitment to walk in the way of good men in Jesus name.

Dismantle every opposition fighting against me and every power locking me out of the fullness of God and midst of good and righteous men in Jesus name.
