Bible verse: Acts 13:2-3
As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

Message
Fasting teaches us self-discipline and it provokes God's special anointing and provision.
Are you looking for financial and business breakthrough, open doors, restoration of what the devil has stolen from you?
Fasting will cause the Holy Spirit to promote God's glory in your life and God will honor His words and promises towards you.

The church at Antioch prayed and fasted before sending out Paul and Barnabas for their successful missionary trips.

Prayer
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways - Psalm 139:2-3.

Thank you Lord for the uncertainties I have experienced because you are preparing me for the next level, and promoting my confidence and trust in You.

Bible verse: Esther 4:16
Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

Message
Fasting shows our weakness and our total dependence on God for solutions. If we go to him in fasting He will move with all force for our sake.
Whenever you are in critical situations, or there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel,
or need to overcome challenges or it seems there is no life again SEEK GOD IN FASTING.

Haman's plan to destroy the Jews has been completed and ratified, only waiting for execution.
Esther could face death penalty if she enter the inner court without been called.
Gallows has been prepared by Haman to hang Mordecai.

Esther, Mordecai and the Jews needs favour of the king and the supernatural intervention of God to bring them out of this dilemma and complete eradication.
They seek God in fasting.

Esther obtained favour in sight of the king, God caused the king not to sleep because of Mordecai while Haman was hanged on the gallows he had prepared for Mordecai.

Prayer
Thank you Lord for the many times you come through for me and have waved aside those storms when I didn't even know I needed a rescue.
Grant me the strength and courage to always seek you in Jesus name.

Bible verse: Jonah 3:7
And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:

Message
Fasting is a time for sincere and heartfelt repentance and contrition for sin.
If you are walking in unrighteousness, possess the spirit of pride, leaning on your own understanding, very disobedient to God, having unforgiving heart, or unable to overcome any ungodly weaknesses, then go to God in fasting and praying, confessing your sins and asking God for forgiveness, seek His strength and guidance.
God will hear your prayers, give you abundant strength, direct your steps and forgive you of your iniquities.

It was fasting and repentance that provoked God to forgive the people of Nineveh and to overturn His planned wrath upon them.

Prayer
Thank you Lord for the physical pains you have allowed in my life which might, unknowingly, have caused my walking in unrighteousness and disobedience.
I herewith repent every committed sin and seek your protection and forgiveness as you did unto the people of Nineveh.

And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

Message
If you are seeking God for answers, or power, or forgiveness, or for drawing closer to God you should consider fasting, devoting the period of the fasting to fervent prayer and waiting to hear from the Lord.

Cornelius was fasting and praying when an angel appeared to him with an answer.

Prayer
Thank you Lord, for your power to shower your light into what the enemy believes it is darkness and also for turning what I consider as a tragedy into treasure.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Message
What a remarkable privilege given to us in describing our identity - neither a white race nor a black race but a chosen race.
Yes! God chooses you and gives you immediate and direct access to Him through his son Jesus.
Whaooo! You did not earn it by your doings or merit it, or meet any conditions to get this special identity.
It was by His grace. Thank you Lord.
God saved us from the darkness of sin in order to be a unique people to worship and declare His praises.

Prayer
Thank you Lord for this unmerited identity.
Grant me the wisdom, directives, confidence, boldness and faithfulness to walking in holiness so I can be proud and worthy of identifying myself as a chosen race, a royal priesthood, an holy nation ready at all times to testify your love, mercy and to singing praises to glorify your Holy name.

Saturday, 9th January 2016
Bible verse: Ephesians 2:5
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Message
When we follow this world or the desires of our hearts, or going our own way with pride and arrogance and making God irrelevant in our lives, we are dead in sins and are separating ourselves from God.
Unless we repent, we are objects of God's wrath and we are heading to the path of being separated from him eternally.

Prayer
Dear Father, I confess all the sins I have committed, knowingly and unknowingly ask for forgiveness and mercy in Jesus name.
Thank you Lord for your love and for removing the wrath I deserved and instead give me undeserved mercy and salvation.

Bible verse: Zephaniah 3:17
The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Message
Because we are God's wealth, pleasure, precious stone and treasured possession, He takes great delight in us.
He created us in his own image so we are to walk like him, show love like him, forgive like him, give like him
so that God will enjoy us and rejoice over us with joy.
We should not disappoint God with any ungodly action, unfaithfulness and disobedience.

Let us like Job, give God the pride and joyfulness to brag about us in the presence of the angels and the devil.

Prayer
Oh Lord, enlarge my spiritual mind to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that I might be filled with all the fulness of God in Jesus name. - Eph 3:19
