2nd Week, May 2015
14th - 8th May

    Bible verse: Luke 24:50-51
And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

    Lesson
The Ascension was the coronation day for Jesus and it testifies to the fact of our Lord's soonest return.
Let's rejoice in the witness of the Ascension because:
Historically - it assures us of the completed work of Christ.
Spiritually - it teaches us of our Lord's triumphant entry into heaven and his continuing speaking to the Father in our defense.
Practically - it reminds us of the second coming of Jesus to judge the world and the need to be ready at all times to give ACCOUNT of our stewardship.
How prepared are you for our Lord's return?

    Prayer
O Lord, open my eyes to see where you would lead me.
Awaken my ears that I would hear your voice guiding me.
Watch my feet that I would tread upon your kingdom paths.
Inspire my mind that I may comprehend your love for me.
Guard my heart from selfishness and unforgiveness that I would give and forgive freely.
Inspire my words that I may speak of love, hope and healing.
Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD - Psalms 118:19

    Bible verse: Mark 5:19
Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

    Lesson
Jesus has the authority, power and desire to help us overcome the problems that overwhelm us because God can do the unexpected with every broken life if we come to faith in Jesus Christ.
But we need to testify the goodness of God whenever He makes an appearance in our situation and has transformed things in your life.

    Prayer
Father, as I step out today, let me step into unending joy, peace, uncommon favour and abundant blessings.
Let my faith in you affect my life and let every area of my life experience your wonder working power in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: 2 Kings 4:2
And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

    Lesson
What we think is nothing is what God uses for everything.
God generally meets our needs by taking what WE HAVE and multiply it as we turn our lives over to Him and obey the principles of His Word.
God can use the little that remains in our lives to effect tremendous blessings.
But let your plight be spelled out when seeking God's provision

    Note!
God is the master of all circumstances.
    It is nothing but:
    - a rod in Moses hand for God to bring plagues upon all of Egypt and to open or close the Red Sea.
    - the leftover mantle of Elijah for Elisha, with the power of God, to part the Jordan.
    - a jawbone of an ass for Samson, with God's power, to kill 1000 Philistines.
    - a pot of oil for God to solve the difficulties of a widow.
    - 5 loaves & 2 fishes for Jesus to feed 5000 men.
    - a handful of meal in a barrel, for God to feed a woman and her son.

What do you have for your miracles?

    Prayer
Thank you Lord, that our needs are never unknown to you and for giving us everything we need to get our needs met, for your marvelous loving kindness,
for your mercy, compassion and your miraculous multiplication of the empty vessels I have.
Let me be able to maintain unshaken confidence, faithfulness, obedience and dependability in you in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Exodus 20:12
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

    Lesson
This is the ethical laws governing human relationships and it is the key to long life and prosperity.
There is no punishment attached to it, however, if you keep them, you'll enjoy the goodness of life, and if you don't, you'll suffer the consequences.
! OBEDIENCE to the instructions of God is linked to the your reception of a blessing.

    Prayer
Father, grant me the grace to keep this commandment and enjoy its promises even when it is not convenient to do so in Jesus name

    Bible verse: Psalms 127:1
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the
LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain

    Lesson
Unless God sovereignly and graciously enabled you to do, you are destined for ultimate disappointments and failures.
And if God is not your portion, you will be left with nothing.
No success apart from God's blessing.

    Prayer
Dear Lord, without your light to shine down, the path is dim and unclear.
Without your voice to order my steps, the journey is confusing and obscure.
O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles - Psalm 43:3

    Bible verse: Ephesians 1:22-23
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

    Lesson
No pope, no pastor, no apostle, no minister, no elder except Jesus Christ is the head of the church.
He's above all demons, all angels and archangels, above every man and satan.
He directs us according to His will the way our brains direct our bodies.
No other power on this earth is sovereign and deserves ultimate obedience.

    Prayer
By the authority given to me by Jesus, I destroy everything limiting God's benefits in my life in Jesus name

    Friday, 8th May 2015

    Bible verse: Ezra 9:14
Should we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations?
wouldest not thou be angry with us till thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no remnant nor escaping?

    Lesson
Because we are so desensitized toward sin, we fail to have the proper response toward it.
We minimize it, justify it, and/or ignore it and go on our way unaffected by it.
We grow tired of seeking and obeying the Lord; forgetting that Jesus warned us not to grow weary as we waited for His return.

    Prayer
O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, as we do NOT present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies - Dan 9:18.
Keep my heart thirsty for You in obedience to your Word in Jesus name.
