    Bible verse: Genesis 3:6
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

    Message
Beloveth, every sinful temptation offers profit and pleasure for self, while hiding the hook and the trap behind that self-pleasure and self-profit.
It does this to convince you, like it did unto Eve, that enjoying the pleasure of the sin is worth any cost that might possibly be required.
You will be distracted from considering the final consequences of yielding to that sinful temptation.
Yes! you will be motivated to rationalize, trivialize, and even justify yielding to the temptation.
Beloveth, either you decide to resist faithfully these deceptive nature of sinful temptation or to yield willfully.
Remember that Joseph resisted Potiphar's wife enticement for lustful sin, though jailed, but was later crowned the prime minister of Egypt.
Eve willfully yielded to Satan's enticement and was drawn away from our Lord.
Beloveth, you have the choice because every sin that you commit will produce a work of spiritual corruption within your heart and upon your live.
You must steadfastly flee that which is sinful and follow after that which is righteous, not allow your heart to be drawn away from our Lord and to be enticed by sinful pleasures and finally, be on guard against the selfish desires that are individually your own.

    Prayer
Heavenly and merciful Father, Your word promises that I will not be tempted beyond what I can bear; I ask therefore for Your strength to stand up against temptation each and every time I encounter it and help me to stay awake spiritually so that temptation won't catch me by surprise in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: James 1:14-15
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

    Message
Enticement is the act of influencing by exciting hope or desire.
Lust is the selfish desire of your heart that is rooted to selfish motivation.
Temptation is an urge or desire to do something especially something you should not, or something wrong or unwise or forbidden.
Temptation is likened to a worm on a hook which entices a little fish out from its hiding place or a snare in a forest which entraps its unsuspecting prey into its dangerous, deadly iron teeth.
It comes through the outer enticements of the world and the inner lusts of the flesh.
Yes! you can allow yourself to be enticed into sin OR to resist sin.

Beloveth, God in His wisdom and grace gives you a free will to make your own choices in life, so that when you are tempted to sin you have a choice: to sin OR not to sin.
Therefore, yielding to temptation or resisting temptation is a matter of individual choice and you alone are responsible for the choices you make in your own life and the consequences that follow.

Do not allow yourself, through your own selfish desires, to be drawn away from the place of spiritual safety, drawn away from the presence of God, drawn away from the blessed fellowship of our Lord, from the guiding influence of the Holy Spirit, from the governing truth of God's Word and from a focused pursuit after righteousness.

    Prayer
Gracious Father, Your Word promises that I will not be tempted beyond what I can bear, fill me with the power of your Holy Spirit to give me strength and ability to resist the urge or desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise or forbidden pleasure that is enticing in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Hebrew 4:2
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

    Message
Beloveth, the gospel is a precious pearl, an unspeakable blessing of God, yet not all that are partakers of it are saved.
Yes! many people had an opportunity to obtain the promised inheritance, but failed, since they didn't unite with others who had faith in God.
Yes! despite the multiple access to the word of God via sermons, revelations and prophecy, yet the word preached did not profit them.
The children of God failed to understand that the wonderful thing about the gospel is that it is the power of God.
They did not lean on God in absolute trust and confidence of His power and they had no understanding of His character, nature and goodness toward them.
Not unto all that the gospel preached with profit from it.
Judas had the gospel, yet it profited him not.
If you reject God's word and faith in Him you will remain dead in sin and will remain forever in the captivity of Satan.
It is worth reminding you that the rain does not make all grounds fruitful, neither doth the Word of God.

    Prayer
Thank you Lord for guiding me thus far and for girding me with your special grace, power and strength.
O living Word of God, speak in me and speak by me, to the Father's glory, the salvation and sanctification of your people in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Proverbs 15:27 contd.
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

    Message
A greedy person is a selfish personality.
Selfish people are emotional pirates. They crave for your attention, but wouldn't give you any and they squirm out of helping you when you need their help.
Selfish people will dislike and devalue you if you don't buy into their misplaced superiority.
Beloveth, you are to be real with yourself and accept that the self-centered person might never consider your needs first but on the contrary, always ask for favours.
Do you belong to people who love to have titles and positions of power or love the place of honor at banquets?
Do you have delight in hoarding, overspending, comparison and/or the feeling or belief that you have a right to have, or to do, or to get something or deserve to be given special privileges?
    Yes! you are greedy.
Failure to tackle any of the above characteristic will lead to nothing but destruction and pollution of the soul.
Hoarding, brethren, is an overwhelming desire to collect items or accumulating worldly materials and the persistent difficulty discarding or parting with such possessions, regardless of their actual value. You want more and more and more, lay emphasis on entitlements but reluctant to give.
Stay true to yourself and don't stoop to the level of the greedy, selfish people.

    Prayer
Lord God, I can best guard myself against greed when your Spirit is living within me, guiding and shaping my life.
Father, please help me to spend wisely and not excessively, to be more disciplined with my lifestyles and to be better steward of the resources You have blessed me with in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Proverbs 15:27
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

    Message
Greed is excessive ambition and covetous desire for more than you have or should reasonably expect.
Greed is the tendency to selfish craving, grasping and hoarding.
It is greed when you want to increase the quality of life without thinking about whether or not you do it in a sustainable way.
Beloveth, every greedy person will be tempted to compromise godliness and righteousness while being concerned about the feelings of others is not part of their repertoire.
We all have the potential for greedy tendencies yet Godly people are content with what they have, for they esteem the Lord and His word.
As believer and child of the most high, greed should not become a dominant pattern in your life and you should know limits in the pursuit of your worldly material needs because greed brings ruin.

Are you tempted in any area of life to compromise in order to get ahead?
Are you never satisfied with life and with what you have?
Do you have delight in fraud and receiving bribes for the job you are doing?
Do you compromise moral values and ethics to achieve your goals?
Do you care more about worldly treasures than loving people and loving God?
Remember "He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house".
Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed.

    Bible verse: Ecclesiastes 5:6
Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

    Message
Many people find it difficult to control their tongue so they speak and make vows at will, and/or try to imitate folks around them forgetting that God seeks an open heart and a closed mouth.
Make sure you understand what you are committing yourself to and think of the consequences.
Do not cause yourself to sin by vowing rashly out of ignorant or show off. Ignorance is not a just excuse.

Let the words that proceed out of your mouth be sincere, positive, motivating and spirit building.
God wants you to always check and control your mental attitude, motives and decision making principles before you start giving lame and frivolous excuses like it was done ignorantly, or by mistake or not intended etc.
Our Lord God is faithful to His promises so when you make commitments you must not take them lightly, be faithful to keep them.

    Prayer
O Lord, I ask for forgiveness of sin for all damaging speeches and every vow I have committed myself to but was unable to fulfill.
Let me not be careless in my words to You Lord, and in making rash promises to the Lord.
Turn Your wrath away from me in Jesus mighty name.

    Bible verse: Proverbs 16:25
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

    Message
Beloveth, it is self-deceit to thinks your way is right and that your principle is the best because it feels right and seems right.
Self-deceit is blinding, sinful, self-destructive and damning and will only but lead you to destruction unless you do away with the love of your selfish thoughts.
Your sincere belief that you are right will not save you but pave way to eternal hell fire.
Lean not to lean on your own understanding. You need an outside opinion that is perfectly right, sincere and godly to correct your thinking

Do away with those wicked imagination and arrogant thoughts.
Do not fall victim of your pride, arrogance and overconfident.

Remember, king Saul's idea and opinion of not slaughtering the good animals of the Amalekites seemed right to him and consequently was rejection by God and lost of his kingdom.
Beloveth, learn not to trust your own thinking, not to impose your opinion on others but to seek God's will on every matter.

    Prayer
Gracious God, the steps of a good man are ordered You, do not allow me to be comfortable with the ways that seem right to the world, never to go comfortably and cheerily along it but to seek Your way, guidance and inspiration in Jesus name.
