Bible verse: 1 Samuel 23:2
Therefore David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.

Message
Very few believers do inquire of the Lord before decisions are made or actions taken.
But when results had fallen short of expectations, or total failure and/or disappointments they start complaining and murmuring and eventually blame the devil or man and/or God for the failures or others who have not helped or those who have contributed to the failures and/or start shifting blames on others and/or asking why and "had it been".
They set their focus on other brethren who have made it in life forgetting that the downfall of a man is not his end.
David always enquire of the Lord before making any decision, he received directives and take actions on the instructions given. And surely whenever he acted as God had instructed him there was success.

When last was did you enquire of the Lord about your business, your family, your marriage, your work?
Was it before or after you have taken decisions or carried out your intentions?
Did you receive from the Lord what to do in such circumstances? And did you heed to that instruction?

Beloveth, it is one thing to enquire but another thing to receive and understand what was communicated from above.
You need to come closer to God, have good relationship with Him, understand His will and language so you don't follow the directive of Satan.
You need the discernment spirit, obedience and trust in the Lord and of course living a righteous live.
After receiving from the Lord you need to take action without allowing the environment or "them say" to discourage you. Surely the devil will try to put you in doubt and allow fear to control but with confidence in the Lord and your strong relationship with Him, the devil and his agents will fail.

Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, I long for a greater knowledge of You and a closer relationship with You.
Give me a heart of deeper understanding of You and do not let me whine and whimper over things I have no control over Jesus name.

Bible verse: 1 Samuel 17:45
Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

Message
Beloveth, no other power on earth can guarantee victory and safety except that of God.
David never had any precedence of war except his dossier on the conquest of ravening wolves in the field.
While his older brothers and the rest of the armies of Israel considered themselves as no march for the Philistines warlord because they were depending on their strength, and are frightened by the words of Goliath and had also forgotten the numerous astonishing miracles and victories God had wrought on their behalf in the past, David on the other hand remembered the power of the Lord and knew that the battle was not his but of the God of the armies of Israel.
Yes! He knew it was the Lord's battle so he handed it over to the Lord.
Beloveth, there is a vast difference between fighting the Lord's battles and letting the Lord fight His battles through you.

Did you ever see God as the One fighting the battles of your life?
Do you have enough confidence and faith in the Lord you are serving despite failures and setbacks?
Do you allow your environment, or brethren, or siblings or circumstances to discourage you from allowing God to fight on your behalf?
Have you ever experienced God in any way in the past?
Beloveth, God's favour, blessings and deliverance in the past are always assurance of His deliverance in the future; therefore like David, key to God's deliverance of the past.
And don't forget that those who put their trust in God will not be ashamed.

Prayer
I challenge every battle of my life in the name of the Lord and I decree my victory now in Jesus name.

Bible verse: 1 Samuel 23:10-11
10 Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
11 Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.

Message
It is those who come closer to God and have good relationship with Him that shall be able to hear Him.
When you ask with clean heart and conscience and your ways are in line with God's ways and directives, you should, like David, be able to communicate with your heavenly Father and receive from Him.
It is your disobedience, pride, and sin that can hinder you to hearing from God.

Saul hated David so much, he was ready to do whatever it took to kill him even he was ready to destroy a city because of David.
When your enemies shall be seeking your downfall, your misfortune and they are so restless to destroy your existence,like David, seek the face of the Lord. Do not seek evil but respond with godly actions.
Beloveth, as a trustworthy child of God and a strong believers of His words, you should always put into account that you will be pursued by worldly forces but God will provide help and a way of escape.

Prayer
Dear Lord, keep me from falling prey to the many temptations that pride seems to scatter in my path and give me the humility which realizes its ignorance, admits its mistakes, welcomes advice and accepts rebuke in Jesus name.
Grant me the grace to always seek You in whichever situation I am and in whatsoever I intend to undertake in Jesus name.

Bible verse: Joel 2:12
Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning

Message
Fasting is withholding yourself from physical nourishment in order to seek God in prayer in a special way.
Fasting is a time for sincere and heartfelt repentance and contrition for sin.
Great men of faith such as Moses, Elijah, Esther, Daniel, Jehoshaphat, Solomon, Paul fasted so that they might draw closer to God.
If you are walking in unrighteousness, possess the spirit of pride, leaning on your own understanding, very disobedient to God, having unforgiving heart, or unable to overcome any ungodly weaknesses, then go to God in fasting and praying.
It was fasting and repentance that provoked God to forgive the people of Nineveh and to overturn His planned wrath upon them.
Therefore, seek the Lord in prayer and fasting, confessing your sins, asking God for forgiveness, seek His strength and guidance surely God will hear your prayers, give you abundant strength, direct your steps and forgive you of your iniquities.

Prayer
Equip me spiritually, mentally and physically to be fully prepared to, in every situation, seek You with all my heart in fasting and praying in Jesus name.

7 O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:
8 The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

Message
Do you know and trust the God you are serving? Are you in communication with Him?
Do you see Him as the only rescue and solution to your problems?
Brethren, the Lord I serve is the almighty God; the omnipotent, omniscient, all-caring, all-loving, the unchangeable, the miracle working God and the supplier of all my needs.

God went before the 3 lepers and the earth was shaking that caused the soldiers to flee their camping field.
Jehoshaphat was facing a great challenge the end which might be disastrous, he trusted God, looked unto Him as the only rescue so he sought His refuge.
God went before Joseph and nothing could stop him for his God defined destiny.
Beloveth, when you are facing challenges, temptations, trials and tribulations or facing a fierce battle of life remind yourself who God is and acknowledge God for His sovereign power, wisdom, love, kindness and grace.
Without loosing hope and focus remind yourself of what God has done in your life, recount His goodness in your life, acknowledge His sovereign power, praised and worship Him for God is going before you.
Nothing can stop you except your unfaithfulness, disobedience when the Lord goes before you.

Prayer
Thank You Lord that I am rewarded with Your daily presence that guides me into all truth.
Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear because You go before me and spread Your umbrella over my life.

Bible verse: Deuteronomy 31:8
And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Message
When your are facing challenges and strong wind is blowing you should not fear because God is going before you for rectification.
He is planning something better and marvelous so that your joy might be full.
God has done marvelous things in your life; been saving you from destruction and plans of the enemy; has filled you with love, peace and courage and has forgiven you when you have sinned and ran away from His sight.
Yes! our Lord will accomplish whatsoever He has started in your life for He has promised never to fail you nor to forsake you.
You have no reason to be afraid of any unfavourable condition and/or circumstances.

Beloveth, all you need is to walk in righteousness and diligently obey the laws and principles of the Lord, be content with what God has blessed you with and face situations without complain and murmur.

Prayer
Oh Lord, I am grateful for your presence and guidance. Without You I cannot be who I am.
Secure me by thy grace as I sail across this stormy sea and protect us from the strategies of the enemy in Jesus name.

Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

Message
The process of keeping a clear conscience is giving yourself permission to be who you are regardless of the situation, doing the right thing without prejudice, be truthful and accurate in your actions.
Yes! You don't leave parts of yourself behind to become non-dependable.
There is no special You as a family man, no different YOU at working place, no special YOU in the Church, no social YOU out there in the world, no gossiping YOU, no backbiting YOU but only one obedient, humble, consistent and motivating YOU at all the time.
You are you at all the times using Gods word as your orientation and decision making.
Beloveth, do not be conformed to this world and never allow circumstances to corner you into the trap of Satan.
Actively focus on the development of your character and of your conscience.

As it is written: Let no corrupt word proceed from your mouth for the wrath of God shall be upon those who speak maliciously of his brethren but blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God and enjoy heaven.
An upright man is guided by a fixed principle of mind and lives after the word of God.
You should not mind those evildoers and those that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, I pray that I might love holiness and walk uprightly.
Show me, oh Lord, the deceitfulness of sin that I might turn from it and keep a clear conscience, teach me to be holy and show me how You would have me live in Jesus name.
