    Bible verse: 1 Chronicles 16:8-9
Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.
Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.

    Lesson
Everyday ought to be a day for thanksgiving and singing of praises to the Lord.
Even in the harshest and most worrisome days, we can find something to be thankful for.
    - He woke you up this morning to enjoy another beautiful day.
    - gives you relationships with each other - your spouse, family, children etc
    - brings direction and guidance to your lives
    - provides for you giving food, shelter, good health, wealth
    - dries your tears and give you peace of mind
    - saves you from many calamities
    - keeps you from evil
    - guides you to walk in the way of righteousness.
The free air you breathe; the functionality of your body - a marvel of engineering; planned, designed and conceived by Him; the knowledge and strength to accumulate wealth; your going out and coming in are not by your own power

Are you better or more righteous than:
    - those who haven't the opportunity to wake up this morning?
    - the millions of people fleeing to Europe seeking shelter and food?

Because God is so good, we are to give thanks, rejoice in His goodness and sing praises.

The wall of Jericho fell while the children of God were praising to the Lord.
The Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab when his children were singing and praising him.
Paul and Silas were, were publicly praying and singing hymns to God when He caused great earthquake to the foundation of the prison.

In every situation and in whichever challenges glorify His name, talk of his wondrous work in your life and obtain more joy and gladness through your praises.

    Prayer
Thank you Lord for your loving kindness, care, provision, for keeping me from all evil and harms, for watching over my family and loved ones and making me a living testimony.
Dear Lord, empower me to always keep an attitude of thankfulness thereby showcasing your goodness and love in my life in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Isaiah 49:15
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

    Lesson
Yes! in this degenerating humanity, despite the pains at birth and the act of nursing, a mother may through inadvertence, affectation, want of affection, a cruel disposition, sickness, and love for the things of this world forget her child.
News of babies dumped in dustbins or abandoned kids in parks and recreation centers are common this end time.
May God have mercy on us.

But the good news is that God gives us the amazing words of love and His assurance saying no matter our conditions, our circumstances, and the gravity of our sins "I will not forget you".
God compares his love for us to a mother's love but more certain, more secure, stronger, non-preferential and indispensable.

What are the characteristics of a mother's love for her child?
    It is a love that:
    - protects and gives shelter in times of danger to the child
    - provides for the child
    - wants the best for the child
    - comforts the child
    - compassionate
    - forgives the child in all circumstances.

The woman of Canaan and Jesus, the Shunammite woman and Elisha, the woman with the "son that liveth" and Solomon are proves of mother's love.
Let us not give God reasons for him to deprive us of his love.

    Prayer
Thank you Lord for blessing me with a mother that loves, cares, provides, protects and always wanting the best for me.
A mother through whom I have the foundational ground of trustworthy love.

Like a mother's love, let your love oh Lord, lift me from the powers of darkness and confusion, from the power of sin and power of setback & procrastination in Jesus name

    Bible verse: Deuteronomy 8:10
When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

    Lesson
A grateful heart will not forget the source of these good things.
Let us learn to be grateful and be a good giving children of God.
God is the source of all our wealth, knowledge, wisdom, good health, living and good things in our life.
Our skills and knowledge are nothing without God.
Yes! we are who we are today by His grace; so we should bless the Lord.

But how can we bless the Lord? We bless the Lord when we:
    - live for him.
    - fellowship with him.
    - are conversant & obedient to his word.
    - fulfill our promises to him.
    - hunger for the things of God
    - give to the poor, fatherless, widow
    - don't miss our tithes
    - have confidence and trust him.
    - are punctual to his house

    Prayer
Thank you Lord, for giving me the privilege of enjoying life, having a comfortable home, wealth & riches, spiritual abundance, do not let me loose my sense of gratitude in Jesus name.
Deliver me Oh Lord, from minds that always calculate and crown me with the garment of giving and thanksgiving in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: 2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

    Lesson
Scripture encourages self-examination. Believers are to examine their lives regularly for the purpose of finding out of the stand of their faith, obedience and Christ-like behaviour.
Are you keeping His commandments, abiding in the word, loving your brethren like Christ loved you?
Are you pleasing God with good work and in your responsibilities?
How easily can you fall into the trap of self-deception, selfish desires and unforgiveness?

    Prayer
Purify me O Lord, from everything that contaminates body and spirit in Jesus name.
Help me to live my life in a way that it brings good to others, that it will reflect your mercy and goodness.
I implore you Lord, never to let love and faithfulness depart from me and plant me by the riverside to be bearing fruits - fruit of the Spirit, of good work and of praising God in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Exodus 23:25
And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

    Lesson
This is one of the "give and take" principles of our Lord.
If we get hungry for God, willing to walk in his statutes, follow his commands and seek spiritual growth, physical blessing will be the reward.
Our Lord includes promises about health, going well for you and your family and you prospering in all you do.
Yes! all is yours if you fulfill your part - serve the LORD your God in truth and spirit.

    Prayer
Oh Lord, I remove the mantel of those things that will enslave me and all forces of setback and backsliding to walk in your statutes in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: 1 Samuel 1:17
Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.

    Lesson
Hasty suspicions and rash censures are very sinful and consequently, we should avoid hasty and censorious judgement and/or condemnation of brethren.
And if we find ourselves mistaken in our misapprehension of our brethren, can we, like Eli, be honest to acknowledge this and endeavor to repair the error immediately?

Like Hanna, people will read different meanings to our actions, our words and we shall be unjustly censured.
    - Can we set a double watch before the door of our lips?
    - Can we still, with respect, humility and without provocation and anger explain the motives of our conduct so as to remove every prejudice?
Note! It is written "Be ye angry and sin not".

Your reactions and handling of challenges, false accusations, unjustified censuring as well as your belief and trust in God will determine the level of the manifestation of that heart's desire and receiving of your anticipated miracles.

    Prayer
Dear Father, I'm determined to stand firm, stay focused, put my trust in you and in humility be obedient to your word knowing fully that casting my burden upon the You will remove every token of sorrow.
Set a double watch before the door of my lips and meet the deepest desires of my heart in Jesus name.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth; Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition.

    Bible verse: Psalm 147:5
Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

    Lesson
There is nothing in this world that is outside the power of God.
He knows all things perfectly and equally well - all thoughts, all mysteries, all feelings, all desires, all secrets, all challenges, every relationship, all things visible and invisible.
No situation, no challenges, no sickness, no heart pain is above the power of the Lord.
Guess what! He is never surprised and never be amazed by anything.
    He is the all-knowing, all-powerful, all-present, all-caring and all-loving God.

Who is He that provides knowledge, wisdom, air, food, wind, light and water to us all?
No one else but our Lord.

Brethren, time to acknowledge and appreciate His love, grace and mercy upon our life.
This last week of October, let us dedicate 30 minutes daily, to praising the Lord for all He has done for us.

    Prayer
O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles in Jesus name

    Bible verse: Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

    Lesson
Our privilege, responsibility and calling is to do good works.
During his ministry, Jesus was noted for his compassion and good works.
Feeding the hungry, healing the sick, raising the dead, having compassion, saving life, forgiving those who persecuted him, performing miracles and wonders.

We are God's workmanship, created in Jesus Christ to do good works!
Therefore we are to follow the footstep of Christ - doing good works, showing love and having compassion on our brethren.

Yes! we need to walk in obedience and be encouraged to perform the good works with love and confidence.
Do you know that doing good work is putting God's love into action?

    Prayer
Oh Lord, grant me the spirit and ability to do all the good works I can, by all the means I can, in all the ways I can, in all the places I can, at all the times I can, to all the people I can and as long as I can in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: 1 Peter 3:10
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

    Lesson
Life is a blessing; a precious gift of God.
Yes! It is right to love life, and to desire many good days so that we may see the miraculous works of God, and survey the wonders of his hand on our life and on this earth at large.

    Yet there are conditions attached:
    1. We must avoid evil and walk in the way of righteousness.
    2. We must live peaceably with all men; seek peace where it has been lost; restore it where it has been broken; and pursue it where it seems to be flying away.
    3. We must refrain from evil-speaking, lying, cursing, slandering, all obscene words, unforgiveness, bitterness, retaliation, filthy and corrupt communications.
    4. We are not to value people above our God. At this end-time, many Christians value their pastors above God.

Beside seen good days, our ultimate goal should be coming closer to God and seeking eternal life.

    Prayer
It is written "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God"; I am hungry to seeing you Father, cleanse me O Lord, and let my heart be pure in Jesus name.
Guide my tongue, watch my steps and let your love never depart from my live in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Psalm 40:15
And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

    Lesson
    What a merciful God!
Think about God's many wonders and how He has worked in the past to deliver and bless you.
Rather than turning away from the Lord during challenges, you must learn to turn to Him to rescue you from life's pits.

The more intense your situation, the more intently and expectantly you should wait upon the Lord - trusting Him, obeying Him, seeking Him and rejoicing in Him as you hope for God's promises to be fulfilled on your behalf.

    Prayer
Thank you Lord for the wonders which You have done in my life, and your thoughts toward me; there is none to compare with you.
You're the only hope for my deliverance and the rescue from every life's pits, do not withhold your mercy from me this I pray in Jesus name.
