    Bible verse: Psalms 5:12
    12 For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

    Lesson
    Without his righteousness it will be very difficult to receive the devine favour of God.
    Therefore we are to seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things (mercy, peace, favour, joy) shall be added unto us.

    Faith, trust, obedience and confidence in God allow us to acquire favor from God!

    Walking in total obedience to the word of God opens the door to truth, and truth will stretch its arms to welcome mercy, righteousness will start kissing peace, the faith dwelling in us will spark God's favor, which is the traveling companion of obedience, and God's blessings will be poured abundantly upon our life.
    Hallelujah!!

    And when the favour of God is upon us, we will be secured and be protected against all oppositions and anti-favour moves of men.

    Prayer
    Thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous, I pray that you compass me with your loving-kindness and bless me with the knowledge of righteousness in Jesus name.
    Cloth me, oh Lord, with garments of favor and salvation, and array me in a robe of your righteousness in Jesus mighty name.

    Bible verse: 1 John 1:4
    And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

    Lesson
    What are these things written unto us to make our joy full?
    They are surely NOT:
    - how to get all the gusto we can out of life;
    - getting riches by all means;
    - been reluctant to accept the truth;
    - keeping many lovers, and/or wives;
    - backbiting and killing our brethren alive;
    - speaking lies in hypocrisy;

    BUT the Rules and Regulations (Laws) of our heavenly Father which among others are:
    - living a life filled with the Spirit of God;
    - seeking for a more abundant life in Christ;
    - surrendering to the Lord Jesus Christ;
    - living a life in fellowship with God;
    - be dedicated to God's pure and perfect program;
    - seeking God's will and trusting God in every circumstances;
    - serving the Lord with GLADNESS, in truth and spirit;
    - doing good works or deeds;
    - be obedient to the Word and doctrines of God;
    - Letting our words and actions be the same;
    - sharing the gospel and promoting the kingdom of God;
    - loving our neighbours, enemies and those who persecute us.
    The fullness of joy comes if we walk in the light.

    Prayer
    Dear Father, thank you to have designed me to operate with a tank full of joy, while mercy and peace never cease to be my portion.
    Let me be able to live a purposeful and satisfying life, be able to focus and practice "things write we unto you", walk in the light and let the reward of my fellowship with you be eternal life in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Romans 14:17
    For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

    Lesson
    God's kingdom is not about the pursuit of the worldly things that will end when our physical life ends,
    not about physical pleasures or earthly things, not the promotion of division and disunity among brethren.
    BUT the pursuing of salvation and eternal life through the
    - loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength;
    - lifting up the name of Jesus before all men;
    - promoting harmony, righteousness, peace and joy among brethren;
    - showing of love and concern for those around us;
    - pursuing peace with our neighbour and loving our neighbour as ourself;
    - having forgiving heart;
    - treating others with respect and kindness;
    - pursuing a reputation for being honest and of sound integrity;
    - doing what is right and hating what is evil;

    Be convinced that speaking or singing in tongues, getting baptized or merely believing all the stuff about God's kingdom is no guarantee of eternal life and for you not becoming illegal aliens in the kingdom of God.

    If we are reluctant to accept the truth, be obedient to the word of God, change our mindset it will be difficult to experience the relief and remedy brought by mercy and peace.

    Prayer
    I decree and declare that nothing whatsoever in the objective and external world shall take the joy in the Holy Spirit from me in Jesus name.
    Oh Lord, Let me experience the relief and remedy brought by mercy and peace in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Psalms 85:10-11
    Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
    Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

    Lesson
    Because there was no sin in the Garden of Eden, truth was the order of the day giving room for peace and righteousness to walk together.
    It was sin & failure to repent that kept mercy and truth apart.
    Adam sinned and failed to admit his sin, talkless of repentance, rather he gave excuses and blamed his wife.
    Mercy ran away from the side of sin and consequently, righteousness and peace could no longer walk together.
    Like diplomacy, excuse is a skin of a reason stuffed with a lie.
    Yes! Human beings are used to finding excuses and blaming others for their mischief.
    Please note that a mind or home built on excuses, lying, cheating, unforgiveness, immorality, bitterness, fussing, hatred and cursing cannot have peace because of sin against righteousness.

    When David was confronted by God of his sin, he confessed with apologies -Ps 51.
    Mercy rushed to meet Truth; Peace ran to kiss Righteousness and God had mercy on David.

    All God wants from us is NOT excuses but a nobly action - admitting and confessing our sins with personal apologies, thereby paving way to the reunion of mercy and truth and consequently allowing righteousness and peace to enjoy the world's most beautiful romance.

    Even when we have provoked God to wrath, if we humble ourselves in sincerity and confess our sins, He will have mercy on us.
    But as long as we deny reality of our sin, PEACE will be an elusive thing and MERCY cannot come to our aid.

    Prayer
    Dear Father, I have sinned and done evil in your sight and I acknowledge herewith my transgressions.
    Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
    Grant me the courage and boldness to be able to deal with the truth in Jesus name.
    I thank you Lord, for lavishing your grace and mercy on me and for sending peace to smother me in kisses of acceptance.

    Bible verse: 1 Timothy 4:6
    If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister
    of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

    Lesson
    What are the things of God to put in remembrance of our brethren?
    They are of course things we have received and heard:
    - to be an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
    - to love God, our neighbours, our enemies and even those who persecute us.
    - to have a forgiving heart
    - give attendance to reading, to exhortation and to God's doctrine.
    - allow God to have the final say in all circumstances and let His word to be the final authority.
    - in all situations be a motivator of brethren.
    - Not to giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
    - Not to speaking lies in hypocrisy;
    - Not to be abstinence from meats and marriage
    - Not to compromising the truth
    - Stop gossiping or propagating things prejudicial to the characters of others
    - Stop putting our selfish desires above God's will.
    - keeping a close watch on ourself and on the teachings of the word.

    The effectiveness through which we reach others is dependant upon the way our lives are perceived.
    That is, how we devote ourselves to the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ, the reading and applying God's Word.
    How we reflect on the things that we profess!
    How disciplined, devoted, committed and Godly our ways of living as well as our behavior and the words of our mouth are.

    Prayer
    Oh Lord, let the life that I live, things I say and do, places I go, things I approve of, be consistent with the values I proclaim, be appropriate and acceptable in your sight.
    Direct my steps and let me follow a regimen that produces holiness as an end product in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Ephesians 6:16-17
    16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
    17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

    Lesson
    We are engaged in a spiritual battle!
    Yes! Satan attacks our emotions, our heart, thought. He frightens us, or makes us feel unworthy, fills our mind with doubts, imaginations, lusts, desires, envy, anger, pride etc.
    We need to take up the shield of faith in stopping the fiery arrows aimed at us by Satan and everything he does or attempts to do to us - in our trials, temptations, distress, persecution.

    You may be going through doubts, anxieties, fears, worries, concerns, problems, struggles, trials, tribulations and persecution but as long as you believe God, believe His Word, His power, His sustenance, His promise, have confidence in Him, and put your trust in Him the more you will be able to go beyond winning battles, claiming victory, and inherit all the possessions of your enemies.

    The outcome of the struggle in which you are engaged is assured because God will be victorious.
    Yes! you are victorious, an overcomer, invincible and a super-conqueror.

    So put on the full armor of God, stand in the day of evil, establish yourself in the Word and be obedient to His word..
    Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

    Prayer
    Thank you Lord for giving me the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
    If my faith has suffered damage, if my love is not fervent, if some creature comfort occupies my heart, if my soul sinks under the pressure of the fight, if my hope is less than bright, if I have gathered defilement, if I put my own selfish desires above your will, refresh me, oh Lord, that I may rise again to wage the strife, and never get weary till my enemy is trodden down.

    Open my eyes that I might see the truths in the word, have a knowledge of the word in its entirety, and keep me from being deceived by Satan in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: Job 36:5-6
    Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
    He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.

    Lesson
    Just have a research on your life (past and present) and check if there is anything God has ever done for you.
    Can you boast of Him been mighty in both power and understanding?
    Our Lord is the omniscient, the omnipotent, the almighty, the supplier of all our needs.
    Preserving us, safe us to his kingdom and glory; supporting us under all our troubles; protecting and defending us from all our enemies; converting us by the power of his grace;
    He is very patient for our sake and slow to anger.
    Yes! His love is too strong for anything to conquer.
    Let us, therefore, hold firm to Him, confess our sins, repent and rejoice in His name.

    Or shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or pride or sword separate you from the love of Christ?

    Prayer
    Oh almighty Father, let neither trouble nor hardship nor persecution nor famine nor nakedness nor danger nor sword nor pride nor unforgiveness nor hardening of the heart, nor negative mindset nor things of this world nor any power separate me from your love in Jesus name.

    I take refuge in you Lord, I pray that you spread your protection over me and let your love overshadow my weaknesses,.
    Grant me unmerited favor and make me a blessing to your kingdom in Jesus mighty name.

    Bible verse: Proverbs 16:27-28
    An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.
    A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.

    Lesson
    Who is the scriptures referring to? You! through our behaviour and character?
    Are you acting Christ-like or are you afflicted with a root of bitterness, unforgiveness, gossip or propagating things prejudicial to the characters of others?
    Do you have a spirit of contradiction, pride, a tongue filled with lies, calumnies, and detraction or have the tendency of alienating minds of friends?
    How obedient are you to the law of God?
    If your behaviour is not Christ-like and you answered at least a yes to the questions above then you are a froward man, a whisperer and an ungodly man who might face the wrath of God.

    Our whole lives must be an expression of our love towards God, not just about how well we sing in the church or how gifted we are in a specific area, or how much money we donate BUT how well we treat, respect, forgive and love others, how obedient we are to Him and our knowledge of the Word.
    Therefore our relationship with God should be the axis on which everything in our lives spins and shall be based on LOVE.
    Love of our neighbours, friends and enemies.

    Prayer
    My mouth shall not be a place of curse but of blessing in Jesus name.
    Oh Lord, don't ever let me loose touch with the reality of your forgiveness, so that I can walk in that same forgiveness towards others.
    Guide and let me walk by the Spirit and let his fruits define my behaviour every day of my life in Jesus name.

    Bible verse: 2 Corinthians 10:5
    Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

    Lesson
    In certain areas of the business world, speculation is the order of the day even a necessity because the speculators earn a profit by absorbing risk that others don't want.
    But believers need a sure word from God, not a guess from man; a biblical "Thus saith the Lord" or a "Maybe God said", the "it is written" and not "I think".
    What is speculative is never certain and never authoritative. The word of God is certain, authoritative and powerful and full of blessings.
    But the more guessing the less blessing.

    Speculations, procrastination and assumption are some of the instruments of the devil to hijack you from God.
    If you allow Satan to control the way you think he will control your life.

    Stop every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and use the spiritual weapons with divine power to demolish strongholds by taking every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ.
    Change the way you think, your mindset, develop God awareness, fear not, be patient and do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

    Prayer
    Oh Lord, I submit myself totally under your control. Guard me against making interpretations that are purely speculative in Jesus name.
    Grant me the spiritual ability, power and authority to be able to take every thought into captivity in Jesus name.
    May the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, guard my hearts and my minds in Christ Jesus.
